Brief Biographical Sketch:

Anabella Maria Galang is an avid biologist passionate about cancer biology and STEM education. She has presented her cancer immunology research at the American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting, and has been invited to speak on behalf of several organizations including the American Society and the American Association for University Women. In May 2018, she founded The Steminist Movement, Inc. to provide free, interactive STEM education to middle school girls in rural southwest Florida. In her free time, Anabella enjoys singing, hiking/backpacking, and writing poetry.

In this interactive class, we will expand upon basic biological theories to examine the Emperor of All Maladies. We'll discuss ecology and evolution, and how Darwin's finches and cancer metastasis aren't all that different.
