Brief Biographical Sketch:
I have been dancing for the past 13 years, and have loved every second of it. My dancing career started with ballet and tap, then transitioned to jazz, and finally hip hop. In sixth grade, I was introduced to East Coast Swing as one of our gym units in school, and have been an avid swing dancer ever since. After my middle school swing dance years were over, I coached a few friends and family members during their units, and all 4 of my "students" won first place in their respective competitions. Other than dancing, I love running, biking, hiking, and many other outdoor activities. Here at Cornell I'm majoring Human Biology, Health, and Society in the College of Human Ecology. Take a trip back to the late 1900’s and boogie down to the best music in town! In this introductory course, we will go over the basic footwork that carries throughout the entire dance, learn a few moves, and then put it all together for a routine at the end. Sign up with a partner, or meet a new friend! No past dancing experience necessary. Come with energy and your dancing shoes (sneakers or other shoes that are easy to move in) and be prepared to be swept off your feet!
